The Best & Easiest Falafels

Preparation time: 10 min prep + 10 min cooking
Serves: 6-8


We have tried a lot of falafel recipes but this is hands down the best & easiest recipe. Guaranteed to be have a fluffy soft inside & crispy outside every time.

3 tips to make sure you get them spot on: 

  1. Use dried chickpeas. Canned chickpeas contain a lot of moisture and your falafels will be soggy Sally's. 
  2. Use the stems of the parsley and coriander this gives them that beautiful green colour and adds more flavour 
  3. When frying them, avoid flipping too often because they tend to fall apart


1 cup dried chickpeas
2 tsp cumin powder
2 garlic gloves
1/2 red onion
1 cup parsley
1 cup coriander
1 tbsp oat flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper



  1. Cover chickpeas with water and soak overnight
  2. Place all remaining ingredients into a food processor and whizz until combined
  3. Heat 1 tbsp of olive oil in a non stick pan
  4. Use a spoon to divide chickpeas into equal sizes
  5. Fry one side for 4 minutes and flip and fry for another 4
  6. Eat as is or in a pita pocket with hummus and vege
